A popular Harrogate gym has celebrated its 6th birthday with a £15,000 makeover.

F45 on Albert Street has undergone renovations worth £15,000 to include new flooring, new branding, lighting decoration and changing rooms.

It was first opened by Matthew Goodall in April 2018.

And as part of the gym’s sixth birthday celebrations, he said he’s “spared no expense” on the new-look studio.

Matthew told Your Harrogate:

"April marks 6 years of F45 Harrogate and after recently buying out my ex-business partner, I felt it was time for a new contemporary look for the studio and a fresh start.

“So what better way than bringing F45 Harrogate studio back to life with a brand-new make over.”

F45 is one of the fastest growing fitness franchises in the world, with group workouts designed to deliver more progress and results than one-to-one training.

London Marathon fundraiser

F45 also hosted a fundraising event over the weekend to help a local gym-goer.

Matthew is backing F45 friend Simon Riley Fuller, who is running his fourth London Marathon on Sunday.

To support Simon, who is running for Guide Dogs Association, F45 hosted a charity bar with live music, stone-baked pizzas and a raffle.

Matthew said:

“I’m super proud to be able to host events, such as Simon's charity fundraiser, to which I know the cause means a lot to him."

Simon will run the 26-mile route in London on Sunday (21st April).

Simon said:

“This is my 3rd London Marathon - not including my virtual one back in lockdown - and this time I want to make a big push and a big contribution to the charity, The Guide Dog Association.

“A charity that's close to my heart and after losing my dad, this one's for them.

“We really are so excited and thankful to the team and members at F45 Harrogate for backing me and supporting me as the community here are like family, its so great!

“It makes running a marathon a tiny bit easier when you have such huge amounts of support!
