GALLERY: Harrogate Floral Summer of Celebration gets underway

Harrogate's Floral Summer of Celebration has started.

Harrogate's Floral Summer of Celebration has officially launched, bringing vibrant floral displays to the town centre.

Organised by Harrogate BID, the displays will be celebrating friendship as it joins the RHS to celebrate 60 years of RHS Britain in Bloom.

The locations of this year’s displays are:

  • Take a Seat, the Yorkshire Hotel, Prospect Place
  • Heart of Flowers, Montpellier Street
  • Friendship Arches of Bloom, Victoria Shopping Centre Piazza
  • HG1 Letters, War Memorial
  • Relaxing with Friends, Library Gardens
  • Love of Gardening, West Park Church
  • Botanical Garden, Montpellier Hill
  • Cross James Street Arches
  • Friends are like Butterflies, Cambridge Place
  • Flower Family, Nicholls Tyreman, Albert Street.

Each dynamic display has it’s own unique story, with QR codes available to scan to find out more.

Bethany Allen, Business and Marketing Executive at Harrogate BID, said:

“As the BID, we’re passionate about promoting our town as a floral destination and what better way to do it than through a floral celebration.

“We’re very much looking forward to welcoming many visitors to the trail across the two weeks, as well as the In Bloom judges.”

The ‘Friendship’ theme has been chosen by the RHS this year to bring a focus on those people who have become friends and formed relationships through community gardening over the years.

Last year’s Floral Celebration saw Harrogate BID win Gold in the BIDs, Town Centres and City Centres category at the Britain in Bloom awards.

The event is in addition to the BID’s work to maintain Harrogate’s floral offering, which includes planters in doorways, over 200 barrier baskets and much more.
