A fundraising campaign has raised more than £14,000 for the daughter of a Ukrainian woman who was killed in a fatal crash on the A61 last weekend.
Fundraising campaign launched for daughter of A61 crash victim A fundraising campaign has been launched for the daughter of a Ukrainian woman who was killed in a fatal crash on the A61 last weekend. 35-year-old Daria Bartienieva, her son, Ihor Bartieniev, aged 6, and Daria’s step-daughter, Anastasiia Bartienieva aged 15, were all tragically killed following the collision on Sunday (3rd September). All three were from Ukraine and living in Ripon. And the Harrogate and Ripon communities have grouped together to raise money for Daria's other daughter, Liza, who lost her mother and two siblings. The campaign has been created by Donna Chilcott and has already raised £14,009 at the time of publication. Donna said:
"Following the tragic accident, a young girl called Liza has lost her mum, sister and brother which leaves her without any family. "I have put a GoFundMe page together so we can raise some funds to help the young girl at this difficult time. A61 incident The crash occurred at around 2.20pm on the A61 between South Stainley and Ripley on Sunday (3rd September). It involved a silver Vauxhall Meriva, a blue Toyota Aygo and a double-decker bus. The Vauxhall and Toyota were travelling south towards Ripley and the bus was travelling in the opposite direction. The driver of the bus was taken to hospital with leg injuries, some of the bus passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital, and the two people in the Toyota were not injured.
