Police have said a drink driver was responsible for the car that has crashed into Harrogate’s Valley Gardens.
The incident happened at around 2:50am when police were alerted by a member of the public.
Officers attended to find a Mazda had crashed through the hedge on Cornwall Road and onto the grass within the Harrogate gardens.
A police spokesperson said:
“We breathalised the driver, a local man in his 30’s.
“He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving but was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.”
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
