This year for the first time, Saturday DalesBus service 74 from Knaresborough and Harrogate will continue running throughout the winter months.

Bus between Harrogate and Yorkshire Dales to continue throughout winter A bus service that connects Harrogate and Knaresborough with the Yorkshire Dales is set to continue into the winter months for the first time. The DalesBus service 74 runs towards Ilkley, Bolton Abbey and Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The bus usually only runs during the summer, but in response to passenger requests, Dales and Bowland Community Interest Company is trialling a winter service. It runs every Saturday from Knaresborough at 09:05am and Harrogate at 09:25am via Otley to Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Burnsall and Grassington. The bus returns from Grassington at 5pm and Ilkley at 5:45pm. Full details of the times and stops are available online at www.dalesbus.org/74. DalesBus 59 Saturday DalesBus 59 to Skipton also continues all year, but is operating a temporary revised route and timetable during the closure of the A59 at Kex Gill until mid-November. DalesBus 24 from Harrogate to Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty continues running seven days a week throughout the year, operated by the Harrogate Bus Company. As part of the national initiative to reduce the cost of bus travel the maximum single fare on all these services is just £2. Elderly and disabled bus passes are also valid for free travel. Timetable leaflets are available from Harrogate Bus Station, Harrogate and Knaresborough libraries and Harrogate Tourist Information Centre. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
