The Bomb Disposal squad were called to the River Nidd near Ripley yesterday (Thursday).
It was after a family discovered two items believed to be from World War II.
Police revealed the family were walking along the river near Law Lane when they stumbled across a live bullet and an unknown metal object.
A police spokesperson said:
“The live bullet was clearly identifiable but the other metal object not so obvious!
“To be safe, the area was briefly cordoned off and items safely disposed of by Bomb Disposal.”
