Volunteers are the backbone of our community - but they rarely get the acknowledgement they deserve.

Our Volunteer of the Year award is for that one person who works tirelessly and selflessly for the Harrogate community, whether it's for a charity, social enterprise or for a special cause.

They don't do it for the money. They do it because they're passionate, noble and considerate - and the definition of the 'Local Hero' title!
