Harrogate Christmas Fayre attracts
30,000 visitors on opening weekend

Footfall figures are estimated to have hit a remarkable 30,000 during the first two days of trading for the Harrogate Christmas Fayre.

The market opened to the public on Friday 2nd December at 10am, attracting thousands to the North Yorkshire town.

Nick Rhodes, Market Manager said:

“So much work goes into organising and setting up the Christmas Fayre, so it’s absolutely fantastic to see all the hard work paying off, with visitors and traders soaking up the vibrant, festive atmosphere that the Market provides.

“Harrogate Christmas Fayre is also a significant contributor to the local economy, with major high street retailers benefiting from the influx of visitors, increasing their overall footfall.”

Footfall at Harrogate’s Tourist Information Centre on Saturday 3rd December was also up 36% on the same Saturday last year, suggesting the expanded Christmas market and attractions have drawn visitors from further afield to Harrogate.

Harrogate Christmas Fayre is located in the town centre along Cambridge Street and Market Place and will be open until 4:30pm on 11th December.

Opening hours are 10am until 7pm from Monday to Saturday, and 10:30am to 4:30pm on Sunday.
