A newly reopened hotel in Harrogate is now welcoming weddings as it continues its post-pandemic recovery.
Hotel St George has enjoyed a period of busy trade since reopening last month - just one year after being at risk of permanent closure.
And the venue, which is part of the newly formed Coast & Country Hotel Collection, has announced it will be hosting weddings again in line with government advice.
Paul Donkin, General Manager of the Hotel St George, said:
[caption id="attachment_12815" align="aligncenter" width="2560"] Weddings are returning to Hotel St George in Harrogate.[/caption]"While the extension of social distancing measures does continue to restrict part of our business, we’re very much focusing on the positives and we’re delighted to be able to bring weddings back to our wonderful venue – albeit with some necessary social distancing restrictions in place."
The latest Government guidance allowing for weddings to go ahead with no limit on numbers other than social distancing requirements.
And the hotel is looking to get back to its traditional events offering as lockdown measures ease.
Paul Donkin added:
"We’ve established a 30-guest package with more restricted numbers in mind but with the ability to supplement this with additional guests if the couple choose to.
"We’re just very excited to be able to welcome weddings again and want to offer both flexibility and affordability in what’s been a difficult year."
The Hotel St George was rescued from the risk of permanent closure in 2020 following the collapse of Specialist Leisure Group, the then owner of the Shearings brand.
Having recently reopened under new ownership and as part of a new hotel management agreement, availability for weddings is vast – meaning couples who have had to wait or became engaged during lockdown are in a good position to secure their desired date.
Paul Donkin said:
"One of the benefits of Hotel St George having only recently reopened is that despite recent enquiries, our calendar for weddings still has some availability, which means couples who are quick to get in touch will almost have a choice of dates, which run up until the end of the year as part of the offer.
"Hopefully, the 4-week delay on the easing of lockdown measures will prove to be just that and guests who book in for late July can enjoy a wedding without restrictions.
"The last few weeks since reopening have been tremendously busy, yet exciting, and we’re delighted to be moving into the next phase of the process of bouncing back."
The contents and pricing of the Hotel St George 2021 Wedding Package can be applied to any wedding that’s booked in for a date before 30th December 2021.
