Leeds Bradford Airport has one of the lowest airport delay times in the UK, according to a report.
Data from the Press Association study of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has ranked Leeds Bradford Airport in 8th among the UK’s airports, with an average delay time of 16 minutes and 54 seconds.
This is 13 minutes faster than the nearest airport in Manchester, which is among the worst with an average delay of 21 minutes.
Gatwick and Luton had the longest delays in the UK, whilst Belfast and Liverpool had the shortest.
According to reports from Sky News, the analysis took into account "all scheduled and chartered departures from the 22 commercial UK airports with at least 1,000 outbound flights last year".
It did not include cancellations.
A Manchester Airport spokesperson defended the airport's poor rank:
"This analysis ignores important context. Punctuality can be affected by a number of factors, most of which are outside of an airport's control.
"The two most significant factors contributing to delays in the last year have been industrial action affecting air traffic control in Europe and the weather.
"As an industry we are working collectively to achieve the best possible on-time departure rates, while protecting flight schedules and avoiding the need for cancellations."
